There are now at least three instances of 'Arscott' Wonnacott in the tree. The first was born in 1812 and is believed to have been given the name to honor his maternal g/grandfather. He emmigrated to Canada in fall of 1832. The Arscott family originates from Tetcott, Devon, and can be traced to the middle ages and had links to the Crown in the 16th and 17th centuries. 1. Emma Vail married Arthur Henry Wonnacott after divorcing Jessie Melvin Wonnacott. There was no issue from her second marriage (to Arthur Henry) and she is buried at Deepdale alongside Arthur Henry. The burial location of 'Minnie' Taylor, Arthur's first wife, is unknown. Can anybody help? It seems that Jessie may have been married four times, although we have not be able to confirm that. Jessie is known to have married Lillian Hinshaw in 1920 when he was Chief of Police at St Louis, Michigan. Elizabeth Yeo

Dewey Wonnacott had already been married (1921) and mourned a stillbirth infant in 1922. In 1924 he and his brother, Clarence T Wonnacott, married the DeMond sisters of Lansing. Clarence, six years younger than Dewey, wed Miss Ethel Mae Demond the elder of the two sisters. The young bride died just one year after the wedding. Dewey married Norma Demond and survived to 97 years of age. Many of the Demond family are buried next to Dewey and Norma in Lansing, Michigan's, Deepdale Cemetery. RMS Titanic Disaster
Dorothy Ann Wonnacott Turpin and spouse William John Robert Turpin both perished in the sinking of Titanic. Mr. Turpin was a carpenter and probably in the same trade union as his father-in-law, Arscott Wonnacott. They had previously emmigrated to the USA and were returning from a long holiday in Plymouth to Salt Lake City, Utah. World War I
Amidst the tragedy of the influenza pandemic that took a large slice of the world population, the cruelty of war was especially devastating to Frederick Wonnacott (b1861 at Rushy Bank, Tetcott). His first wife (Unknown) bore him six sons. Three of them, James, Charles, and Thomas, all died in service to the King during that conflict. Winnacott Branch
1. Much of the research in the Winnacott line is confused by name changes, probably a scriveners error (or sibling argument), that took place on at least two or three birth certificates. The father is clearly known as a Wonnacott, but the birth certificate came out as Winnacott, Winacott, or Winnacot. The link to 'Wonnacott' has now been confirmed on at least four documents.
